New Year Career Resolutions

NewJob2013Moving your career in an improved direction is always a good thing; here are our top three New Year’s resolutions that can help you with your job hunt.

“Freshen Up” You may have been searching for a new job for quite some time or just started your job hunt; either way the New Year is an ideal opportunity for you to throw out your old approach and try something new. Preparation is the key to success, so make sure that your CV has been re-invigorated and is up-to-date, you have undertaken your research, planned your job hunting strategy and done your ground work for that all important interview, and you will be well on your way.

“Shop Around” Like the January sales, when job hunting it pays to “shop around” for the ideal career move. You may feel that a new challenge in your current company or role would be more rewarding or you may have decided to consider a different location, different benefits or even a different career path all together. Traditionally the New Year sees a positive change in the job market, and so it’s the ideal time to “shop around”; start by being clear about what job you want and why.

“Be Patient” – Persistence and patience is the name of the game when looking for your ideal career, and making sure you stay motivated in your job search is paramount. Surround yourself with positive motivational tools, talk to your friends and family about your strengths, and always keep in mind that it will be “worth it in the end”. The most important thing to remember however is – never give up.

Get started with your job hunt and remember these three Career Resolutions, by making some changes in your job search strategy, you may start the new year with a new career.

I can honestly say that my experience so far of this Agencies staff is brilliant, they seem to be a cut above most other agencies. I am in need to find a job so when after my initial interview we established some key areas to work on, I have been given the tools to learn some new skills. I am now learning these and enjoying the experience. I would highly recommend the ladies of this agency, they are all so helpful.
