Commercial and Executive recruitment specialists, White Horse Employment and Professional Resources, celebrated the launch of the firm's new website with a champagne party, prize giving event and charitable donation at their offices in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Going “live”, was an exciting time for the White Horse Employment team, asking local jobseekers to shape the future of the new website, by introducing a competition for one lucky jobseeker to win an iPod Nano, champagne and other goodies, in return for their valuable feedback.

That lucky jobseeker was Nick Giles from Frome, who found “the new site simple and informative while being intuitive to use”, Nick joined them in champagne toasts to the launch.

Guest speaker, David Baker, President of the Trowbridge and District Chamber of Commerce, congratulated the company on its successful 22 years as a local business, and their introduction of a new website, embracing 21st century technology.

David welcomed White Horse Employment’s donation of the celebration cake, along with a monetary donation of £250.00 to The Amber Foundation’s residential centre, Bythesea Lodge – a charity whose aim is to help reduce the level of unemployment within the 18-30 year age group, by giving them time and space to rebuild their lives and build their self confidence and self esteem so they are motivated to seek employment.

Steve Upton, the Assistant Manager at Amber said “White Horse Employment have been extremely helpful and valuable in helping Amberteers to get into the jobs market and we were delighted to be invited to their launch and extremely grateful for their donation.”

“The hard work that has been involved in securing our continued success in difficult times has paid off”, says Beverley Glover, managing director of the recruitment firm, “and what better way to celebrate than with jobseekers, staff and local employers alike. We felt great empathy with the aims of the residents at Bythesea Lodge, and wish them all the best in their job hunting activities”.

Beverley is also looking forward to their first appearance on the “big screen”, “we have incorporated Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn into our new site, and are even looking at our first film debut on YouTube, it’s a very exciting time”.

Established in 1988, owner manager Beverley added: “The new website is just one step of many that the team have embarked upon, and it is an exciting time to be part of this organisation.”

As confidence returns to the UK economy and organisations look to grow, the use of a quality temporary workforce has been, and will be, of huge benefit to local and national businesses. The skill sets that a temporary worker brings can often help drive an organisation forward.

White Horse Employment wanted to reward these unseen “stars”, and for the second year running, ran their search for the Temporary Worker who shone the brightest – their “Search For A Star 2010” Competition – awarding a special temp with their very own celestial star named after them.

2010’s competition saw a record number of nominations from businesses across Wiltshire, making it all the more difficult to determine a winner.

“We are proud that so many of our Temporary Workers have made a positive difference through their assignments, especially in what’s been a hard economic year” commented Sarah Matthews, Recruitment Manager for White Horse Employment, “and I am extremely pleased to announce that Mandy Patton, has been awarded the accolade of “White Horse Employment’s Star of 2010”.

Mandy was nominated by Katrina, Office Manager, after completing a successful eight month assignment generating appointments for Hitachi Capital’s Account Managers, where Mandy was considered a valued member of the team. “We have been lucky enough to have the Winner of the Search for a Star 2010 competition working at our offices” explained Katrina, “Mandy has been a valued member of our team. Her commitment to supporting our business goals had shown that she is a great deal more than “just a temp”.”

“We are honoured to have such an amazing temporary workforce”, added Beverley Glover, Managing Director of White Horse Employment, “and as the economy grows, we are looking forward to representing more of these stars, we certainly are looking forward to next year’s competition”

New Beginnings for White Horse Employment, thanks to University Student

With reports of graduate employment opportunities decreasing, the need for students to bridge the gap between course and corporate has never been greater. With students seeking valuable experience within the working world, many are opting for a “head start”, with their final project based firmly in the business world.

Participating with educational projects is highly motivational and White Horse Employment were excited when an Interior Design student, Sarah James, from the University of Teesside, wanted to develop their Grade II listed building into a “Recruitment Centre of Excellence” giving them “Initia Nova” – new beginnings, for both Sarah and White Horse alike.

“The Initia Nova project, was truly inspirational”, commented Sarah, “the interest derived from working on a building with historic value, the redesign and reformat of the rooms into a more efficient layout whilst in keeping with the Georgian period features in a “real” business situation was an experience that I have found extremely beneficial for my portfolio and my design career.”

The redesign project of the building and the close working relationship Sarah had with the White Horse Employment team saw Sarah become a finalist for the “Best Spatial Design”, at Sarah’s recent graduate display ceremony.

Sarah added, “the invaluable experience this project has given me will always influence my career and development, and I want to say a personal thank you to the White Horse Employment team, and already it has made a difference”.

“Encouraging and developing talent for the future is a rewarding experience for everyone concerned”, added Emma Roberts, Support Services Manager of White Horse Employment. “Training and projects linked to business provides students with an insight into the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need when starting out on their careers, and also gives companies the opportunity to play an active part in the development of our future workforce.”

White Horse Employment, have given away £25,000 of recruitment vouchers in celebration of achieving the highest standard of recruitment best practice - REC Audited Status - recognised as the “best of the best” of Recruitment practice.

White Horse Employment remain part of an exclusive club - one of only a small percentage of agencies of an REC estimate of over 11,000 agencies nationwide – A club where members stand for Quality, Excellence, Standards and Best Practice.

“The cost of making bad hiring decisions can be devastating for any organisation looking for the skill sets to drive them out of the recession” said Beverley Glover, Managing Director, “the time and resources wasted can be incalculable, organisations need the confidence that their hiring is in the hands of a recruitment expert.

“What better way of demonstrating how an REC Audited agency can reduce their recruitment costs by putting our money where our mouth is and giving something back to the clients who made this all possible?” Beverley added, “our clients can be confident in our professional service and the team delivering it.”

Sarah Matthews, Recruitment Manager commented “working with an REC Audited member is the starting point for every hiring choice and raising awareness of this accreditation, is essential to ensure employers and work seekers receive a quality recruitment service. It’s certainly worth its weight in "Gold”, that a clients’ recruitment is in safe, experienced hands”.
