Overview

White Horse Employment are partnering with an established manufacturing business to find a Health and Safety Administrator

Operating within a highly regulated engineering environment, the business is committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance while driving continuous improvement across its operations.

This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by supporting key Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and working closely with engineering and operational teams.

This role is offered on an initial 3-month fixed-term contract. Due to current internal changes, there is the opportunity for the position to become permanent for the right candidate following the initial contract period.

The Role

Reporting to the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the site's Environmental, Health & Safety management systems. Initially, your primary focus will be the completion of risk assessments and COSHH assessments, helping to address a backlog of essential EHS documentation. As the role progresses, you'll also support a broad range of compliance and continuous improvement activities across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the completion, review and implementation of risk assessments and COSHH assessments across site operations.
  • Develop, maintain and improve risk assessment and COSHH registers.
  • Support the operation and continual improvement of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems.
  • Participate in incident investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.
  • Assist with internal EHS audits and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Support reviews of legal compliance registers and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain EHS records, registers and statutory documentation.
  • Contribute to emergency preparedness planning, drills and audits.
  • Support the delivery of Environmental, Health & Safety training across the site.

What We're Looking ForEssential

  • NEBOSH Certificate or currently working towards certification.
  • Proven experience completing risk assessments and COSHH assessments within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience working with or supporting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

  • Experience managing hazardous chemicals and COSHH compliance.
  • Experience with ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering discipline.
