White Horse Employment are working with an established client based in Trowbridge who is looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join their existing HR team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys providing practical, people-focused advice and building strong relationships with managers across the business. You'll support the delivery of the full employee lifecycle while providing first-line guidance on employee relations matters, policies, and best practice.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, balancing operational HR responsibilities with the ability to support managers on a range of HR issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across a range of HR matters
  • Support managers with employee relations cases, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability, and performance issues
  • Advise on HR policies and ensure they are applied consistently across the business
  • Manage recruitment activities, including supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction activities to ensure a positive employee experience
  • Support probation reviews, employee development, and performance management processes
  • Prepare HR documentation, including contracts, letters, and employee correspondence
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are kept up to date
  • Support organisational change projects where required
  • Assist with the review and development of HR policies and procedures
  • Produce HR reports and analyse people data to support business decisions
  • Work closely with the wider HR team to deliver HR initiatives and continuous improvements
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies

About You

We're looking for someone who is approachable, commercially aware, and passionate about delivering an excellent HR service. You'll be confident advising managers, handling employee relations matters, and building trusted relationships across the organisation.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor role
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 3 and or 5 qualification or working towards
  • Experience supporting HR projects and organisational change
  • Experience within a fast-paced environment
  • ER caseload experience
