Job Title: Product Owner

 

Reporting to: Head of Delivery

 

Purpose

The Product Owner will work closely with Engineering and Project Management as part of the wider Delivery Team to support the delivery of multiple complex projects by being the subject matter expert for all the clients products. Working as part of a Pre-Sales Team to secure new business opportunities with new and existing clients as well as supporting the existing client base with day-to-day queries relating to a wide range of products.

 

This role will suit a detail orientated individual with a passion for technology. Strong communication skills are essential.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Ownership of the “New Intake Process” which identifies new work to be added to the product backlog
  • Supporting the gathering of new requirements from new and existing clients as well as internal colleagues (depending on the project)
  • Creating User Stories for all product related projects and generating Statements of Work for all client-related projects
  • Acting as the day to day “go to” person for all product queries throughout the project lifecycle (including attending stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, planning sprints, implementation, UAT and release)
  • Working closely with the QA Team in internal UAT to ensure the project aligns with requirements
  • Supporting the triage and prioritisation of UAT issues raised by clients
  • Providing training to colleagues and clients on our back-office system
  • Supporting the triage and prioritisation of Support Tickets (2nd line support)
  • Working with clients to produce and maintain product roadmaps
  • Understanding interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Supporting the Project Manager with changes to projects
  • Offer input to innovate processes, systems, organisation and culture.

Required skills and Experience

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role working with complex software-based solutions.
  • An ability to develop effective relationships to gain/maintain a deep understanding of products, external client activities and business priorities.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience writing user stories is essential.
  • You must have a professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills. It is vital that you are a strong team player, motivated by organisational success.
  • Strong external client management skills.
  • Highly organised and detail orientated.
  • Experience in working with native mobile apps is essential.
  • Capable of hands-on problem solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.
  • A positive, determined approach to researching and analysing new products and services (experience in market and competitor analysis would be an advantage).
  • Takes ownership of personal actions and outcomes.
  • Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills in all forms.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A positive attitude to dealing with people and problems.
  • A strong sense of personal responsibility towards getting the job done.
