This is a new role within the IT department. It will report directly into the Head of IT Service. This role is essential in defining and maintaining the value that IT delivers to the organisation. It is also will be critical in improving the perception of IT in the UK and Group. It is the plan to recruit one SDM, in the short term, with the capabilities and experience to help shape this role and develop the Service best practices needed. Through the success and delivery of this first role we will then be able to expand the team and add more SDM’s to provide Service Management capability across the whole of the UK.
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an effective and optimised IT service to your customers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the support of applications and associated infrastructure is delivered to agreed standards. You will also be responsible for working with the Service Desk, Business Systems Application Team and Infrastructure Teams who provide second and/or third line support to services that we provide.
You will also be responsible, with the Head of Service, for managing relationships with the support partners who provide second and/or third line application support. You provide input into IT projects and ensure the smooth transition into IT Service of new applications and changes to existing applications.
