Do you have previous experience of working on a busy IT service desk? Do you have a good technical knowledge of Windows environments, Networking, Citrix, Unix, Telephony, End user computing and productivity applications such as MS Office? Yes? An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading local company as a Service Desk Analyst and provide first level support in a busy support desk environment.

As their Service Desk Analyst; you will be responsible for providing first level support through taking calls and handling the resulting incidents or service requests. This will see you:
  • Providing 1st line technical support to customers – taking enquiries by phone and email
  • Dealing with problems for hardware, such as servers, computers and printers, and software programs, such as Microsoft Office
  • Updating knowledge bases with details of common problems which customers can view online
  • Using helpdesk software to log calls with descriptions of issues, progress and solutions
  • Passing calls to a team of 2nd line support analysts if the problem is more complex and
  • Other duties required in such a support role
The successful applicant will be proactive individual able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. You will have a customer focused attitude with a positive approach and a proven track record working in a service desk role. More specifically:
  • Good knowledge of service management toolsets
  • Proven experience and understanding of IS infrastructure, desktop and business application environments
  • Span of technical knowledge to encompass MS Windows, Networking, Citrix, Unix, Telephony, End user computing and productivity applications such as MS Office
  • Awareness of ITIL v3, ideally with Foundation certification or equivalent
