Do you have experience of working in a corporate procurement environment and possess excellent commercial and negotiation skills? Are you looking to join a leading local organisation? An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our client based in Chippenham in this challenging Procurement Category Buyer role.

As the Procurement Category Buyer; you will be responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers within your portfolio including road haulage, vehicle commodity and distribution services, which will see you negotiate terms and supply arrangements to fulfil business requirements. More specifically your duties will include (but not be restricted to):
  • Developing, coordinating and implementing procurement strategies for categories of expenditure to provide assurance of supply, quality, service, cost reduction, and innovation aligned to business objectives.
  • Maintain a high level of market knowledge, awareness and representation in the category markets.
  • Develop, measure and monitor KPI's and Supply Level Agreements for categories of expenditure through quarterly reviews with suppliers.
  • Monitor site compliance with central agreements by requesting supplier reports, carrying out site visits, and escalating within relevant business area as necessary.
  • Manage all central agreements by maintaining a central database of contracts, pricing details and other legal documentation.   
The successful applicant must have the understanding and experience of managing suppliers through supply agreements and service level agreements.  In addition, experience of category based indirect procurement across a variety of products and services, ideally in relation to the vehicle commodity (vehicle hire, maintenance etc.).  With excellent communication skills, you will also have the ability to become knowledgeable on new portfolios quickly.
