Are you a proficient administrator with experience gained in a pressurised and fast paced office environment? Do you have excellent data entry skills with an excellent eye for detail? Our client, a leader in their field has an excellent opportunity within their Logistics Team for a Transport Administrator on a temporary ongoing basis to become part of their operation - committed to providing a first class service to their customers.
The Transport Administrator role is working for our client based in Chippenham, will be predominantly supporting effective operational processes and with interviews going ahead with the view to start as soon as possible, this is an opportunity for a capable administrator to really make their mark.
Reporting to the Transport Manager you will provide full administration support. Having previous administration and scheduling experience (ideally within transport) and customer service experience gained within a fast paced environment, the ideal candidate would be flexible.
  • Engage all external and internal customers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner ensuring that a good impression is maintained at all times.
  • Answering and responding to all internal/external customer queries in a prompt and polite manner.
  • Ensure all inbound/outbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation.
  • Maintain shipping records to track arrival and departure times
  • Monitor costs and suggest alternatives
  • Undertake administrative, data entry and filing duties to meet needs of the Transport Department.
  • Dealing with customer orders ensuring quality accuracy, delivery timelines, instruction and communication to all staff 
  • Scheduling and planning transport routes as and when required
  • Other duties as required in such a role.
The successful applicant will have:
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel)
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good numeric skills – including accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work on own initiative, demonstrating excellent organisational skills.
