White Horse are thrilled to be working with a trusted, well-established, family-run distributor of fuels and lubricants, serving both domestic and commercial customers for over 50 years. They are expanding their footprint in Bristol, Gloucester and Swindon and are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to help drive that growth.
In this field-based role, you’ll manage existing client relationships while proactively generating new business across various sectors including Fleet, Industrial, Agricultural, and Off-Road. About the role:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with existing customers
- Generate repeat and multi-product sales
- Prospect and onboard new clients across diverse sectors
- Use a variety of communication methods to approach leads
- Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations
- Manage your own work schedule and sales pipeline
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and product knowledge
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets
- Occasionally represent the company at trade shows and events
Essential qualities:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a sales role
- Confident, professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organised, motivated, and goal-driven
- Resilient and persistent, with a problem-solving mindset
- Commercially aware and able to adapt to different business needs
- IT proficient
- A team player and a people person
Qualifications and Skills:
- Industry experience in fuel, lubricants, transport or a similar field
- Relevant sales qualifications would be an advantage

Location: Field-based – The territory areas for this role are Bristol, Gloucester, and Swindon.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday
(Monday-Thursday are Field days, Friday will be onsite )
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
