White Horse Employment are proudly partnering with one of the leading legal firms in the South West, supporting their search for a Credit Controller to join their dynamic and results-driven finance team. As a Credit Controller, you will play a key role in managing the firm's working capital, reducing debtors, and ensuring compliance with cash collection processes and policies.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Credit Manager and various stakeholders across the business, to deliver a high-quality and efficient credit control service.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts to ensure effective debt recovery.
  • Conduct proactive and regular follow-ups on outstanding debts, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Produce detailed debtor analysis for key clients and partners, ensuring compliance with client-specific protocols and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Partners and client leads to address and resolve any payment issues.
  • Support lawyers with reconciliations and provide ad-hoc debtor analysis as required.
  • Identify problematic debts and follow the escalation process to ensure swift resolution.
  • Meet and exceed monthly cash collection and aging targets.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal credit control procedures
  • Conduct regular Partner meetings with Controllers to ensure alignment on the working capital cycle.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal credit control policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Credit Control experience within the legal or professional services sector.
  • Proven experience in commercial collections and managing key client relationships.
  • Knowledge of financial controls and the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs).
  • Proactive, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
