JOB TITLE: Finance Director LOCATION: Swindon SALARY & BENEFITS: £120k HOURS: 40 hours

White Horse Employment are proud to be exclusively retained by Fish Brothers, one of Swindon’s most established and trusted automotive groups, in their search for a Finance Director. With a long-standing reputation for quality, service, and continued investment across its dealership network, this is a rare opportunity to join a family-owned business at a pivotal point in its growth and modernisation journey.

As Finance Director, you will play a central role in shaping the financial and operational future of the group. Acting as the right hand to the Managing Director and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll balance high-level strategic influence with hands-on involvement across day-to-day performance, process improvement, and team leadership.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading financial strategy, reporting, budgeting, and audit across a multi-brand automotive dealership group.
  • Overseeing banking, compliance, risk management and governance to ensure strong financial control and commercial discipline.
  • Reviewing and modernising financial processes, improving consistency, efficiency, and accuracy across dealerships.
  • Coaching, developing, and empowering the finance team to maintain high standards, accountability, and engagement.
  • Partnering closely with the MD and SLT to provide insight, shape strategy, and support informed decision-making.
  • Driving digital transformation which will include automation, improved reporting, and enhanced data-led forecasting.

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with senior finance leadership experience.
  • Strong technical grounding in statutory reporting, cashflow management, compliance, and audit.
  • A proactive, commercially driven leader who thrives in a hands-on environment.
  • Experience within a multi-site, retail, automotive, or operationally complex business.

This is a standout opportunity to join a respected, values-led organisation where you’ll have real influence from day one. You’ll play a key role in steering the next phase of growth, strengthening financial performance, and supporting the continued success of a highly regarded and ambitious automotive group.

Please note: Any CVs sent directly to Fish Brothers will be forwarded to White Horse Employment and treated as introductions under our agreement.
