White Horse Employment are pleased to be continuing our support for an educational organisation with an exceptional reputation based in Bath.
This business are looking for a new Finance Manager to join the finance team on a part time basis (30 hours). The role will be supporting the finance director and overseeing the small transactional finance team. This is a broad, hands on role that involves producing timely management accounts, cash flow forecasts, year end accounts and all budgets.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Oversee financial accounting systems for the organisation and Trading Subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with Financial Regulations and liaise with budget holders and external stakeholders on financial matters.
- Manage invoicing, debt collection, and automated BACs payments.
- Ensure accurate reconciliations and oversee month-end and year-end procedures.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Assist in budgeting, financial risk management, and annual audits.
- Review weekly debtor reports and produce management reports.
- Assist in onboarding new schools and developing their financial reporting.
- Recruit, train, and appraise finance staff, ensuring succession planning.
- Deputise for the Director of Finance and participate in leadership meetings.
THE SUCCESSFULL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have experience working in a Financial management position
- Fully or part qualified (ACCA or CIMA)
- A working understanding of VAT and charity accounts
