What you’ll be doing
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, and limited companies.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and VAT returns using various accounting software.
- Assisting clients with bookkeeping and accounting queries.
- Visiting clients on-site for bookkeeping and management accounts assignments.
- Supporting client projects
- Liaising with the tax team to ensure the timely completion of tax work.
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and potential overruns, and then raising these with the Accounts Manager.
- Supporting and mentoring juniors within the department.
- Ensuring client expectations are managed and statutory deadlines are met.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in accounts preparation within an accountancy practice.
- Ideally AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified – though “qualified by experience” candidates will also be considered.
- Good knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, and Kashflow.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with clients.
- A team player who can also work independently with initiative.
