White Horse Employment are proud to have been retained by Knees Homes & Electrical, a long-established, family-run home and electrical retailer based in Trowbridge. We’re looking for a hands-on Part Time (30 hours) Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function, manage day-to-day operations, and support the Managing Director with insightful financial reporting and decision-making.
The Role
This is a number 1 role supported by an Accounts Assistant, offering a broad mix of transactional and strategic responsibilities. You’ll oversee everything from monthly accounts, reconciliations, and cashflow management through to compliance, payroll, and audit preparation.
Key duties include:
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, sales analysis, and departmental reporting.
- Manage month-end close, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate cashflow forecasting and management accounts.
- Complete VAT, PAYE, NI, and FCA submissions and annual reporting.
- Lead payroll, insurance renewals, and biannual stock takes.
- Provide financial insight and support to the Managing Director.
About You
- Qualified or QBE accountant with strong all-round finance experience.
- Confident in a standalone role, managing both hands-on and strategic finance tasks.
- Strong Sage, Excel, and reporting skills.
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable in a family-run SME environment.
