White Horse Employment are pleased to be partnering with a well-established and growing business in Westbury to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with transactional finance experience who is looking to join a supportive environment and develop their career within a stable and expanding organisation.
The Role
You will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, with responsibilities including:
- Managing purchase and sales ledger activities
- Processing supplier invoices, payments and reconciling statements
- Posting customer receipts and supporting sales invoicing
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Processing expenses and assisting with payment runs
- Preparing journals and supporting month-end processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with reporting
This is a varied role that offers strong exposure across the finance function, with the opportunity to gradually take on additional responsibilities and develop further within the team over time.
About You
- Experience in a transactional finance role such as Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Purchase Ledger
- Strong attention to detail and organised approach
- Comfortable using Excel and accounting systems
- Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
