The successful candidate will take end-to-end ownership of payroll for the business, where they will be responsible for approx. 400 employees on a monthly payroll.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide payroll administration support, including covering payroll processing when required.
- Take ownership of the Time & Attendance system, including providing training and improving management capability through trend analysis.
- Collate and produce payroll reports and dashboards, including monthly reporting.
- Consolidate payroll data ready for submission to the Head of Finance.
- Conduct spot checks for payroll changes including new starters, leavers, and contractual amendments.
- Ensure payroll processes remain compliant with current legislation and internal policies.
- Provide payroll-related information and insights to senior management to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Collate and produce data for statutory reporting including Gender Pay Gap reporting, P11D’s and Death in Service information.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data.
- Keep up to date with pay-related legislation and statutory benefits.
- Support the People team and other departments where payroll knowledge or expertise is required.
You will ideally bring along:
- Previous experience using payroll software.
- Experience working within an in-house payroll function.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office programmes.
- Payroll qualification (CIPP Level 3) preferred.
